my 2,000th blog post!!!

max had a great first day at school. he came home with a sticker that said "offical 1st grader". he was so happy that he still gets to see all his buddies at lunch & recess. he has a young, new-to-the school teacher. she seems like quite the go getter. i spent the afternoon watching a neighbor's kids (guess who's?) because she couldnt pick them up at the bus stop. im going to talk to her today to see what her long term after care plans are.
i managed to fill out 6 pages of PTO volunteer forms for the whole year! and some other papers.
we also started working on the 'dig it out' kit my sister cynthia sent me. the kids LOVED it! we had to stop after 20 mins so there would still be time for baths.
then we all conked out for the night.
then this morning i found out- i never took the 2nd rarely used deadbolt lock off the door. i deadbolted us in the house while i watching the neighbors kids. i didnt want them leaving w/o my knowledge. i locked shawn out!! poor guy!! he had a flat tire on I-95, then got locked out of his own house. i've made our bedroom such a cocoon i didnt hear the phone or doorbell. he eventually got in the kitchen window. :(
this morning we took audrey to her first day of school. she didnt want to go at first but cheered up on the walk over to the school. then inside, it was me that didnt know when to leave! good thing shawn was there, motioning 'time to go' feels so weird!! but i did get this huge post written!!
