in answer to the mush-room tent question & some other follow ups"

no i think thats a one of a kind. it was the 22nd annual mushroom festival and kennett is the mushroom capital of the world, its a big pretty claim to fame for them as a town- i think its enough for them to afford an inflatable mush-room.
there was mushroom related food, fried mushrooms, mushroom quesadilles (sp?) alot of normal foods with mushrooms tossed in, alot of authentic mexican food too b/c migrant workers come there to work in the mushroom farms. we got free sample bags of mushroom flavored potato chips from herr's- those were good. if you bought a wrist band you could taste & vote for your favorite mushroom soup. there were mushroom cooking demonstrations that were on going...there were alot of vendor selling 'shitake happens" and "im a fun-gi" shirts. you could take a bus that would take you down to the farms, but they also had a tent set up that showed the mushroom growing process (but i knew that! i had several mushroom growing kits when i was a kid). there was entire carnival's worth of kiddie rides set up that we carefully avoided.
some how we missed the bobbing for mushrooms contest :(
here's alot more information
