over the course of one week max's school has asked for donations for "jump for your heart". we are supposed to ask friends & family for pledges for that (i havent- i'll just send in $20). baby items for caring week, i bought a can of forumla (took 10 mins to explain what it was to the kids) and two boxes of baby cereal. i'm also seeing if i can get some more forumla samples from freecycle. and now they are having contests between the classrooms to see which class can make the biggest (worth the most $$) prize basket to raffle off at the spring fair and the parents are supposed to bring in the prizes! max's classroom's theme for the basket is shop till you drop so i guess they want gift cards?
plus there's a second picture day next week! its all so crazy. you dont send in money now, they'll send home a set of prints and you can pay if you like them! :P
i dont mind some donations and i certainly try to do want i can but sometimes it becomes overwhelming and making it a competion between the kids... i dont like that i guess i didnt like it when i was in school either.
* edit i forgot to add max's teacher is asking for donations of snacks (must be peanut free) and baby wipes. baby wipes are the only cleaning supply allowed in a classroom. the kid's work tables are only cleaned once a week otherwise! ok that i feel the needto contribute too! the snacks are for kids who forget their snacks in the begining of the year i brougha barrel of pretzels... come to think of it i took three packages of wipes too!
