there's all this crap surrounding the west chester film festival i need to get it out of my head.
so to start out with shawn & i have always been in agreement that a film house would compliment west chester wonderfully. so when we moved back and saw that there was a film festival in order to rasise money for a theater we signed up as sponsors for the festival and i volunteered figuring i'd meet people.
we little did we know during the 2 years that we were gone that every suburb of philadelphia has its own film festival, in order to raise money for a independant film theater and instead of cooperating and getting maybe one theater in one county its a really a series of competing fundraising parties that seem to go no where. no only is there a west chester film festival but there is alwasu a chester county film festival, and a downingtown, and a paoli and the list goes on and on.
so as for my volunteering, i was picked out to help with the opening party. i was under the impression i wouldnt need to buy a $40 ticket to this party but that shawn still would. will no biggie. i mean i have already spent- wait i mean contributed- $250 to become a sponsor, then $100 for ticket to another fundraiser party in may, now they tell us we both need to buy tickets for the party on thursday thats going to be $80. plus i still need to find a sitter since my great one is in the process of moving.
i really dont want to go since im angry and annoyed over the whole thing but shawn seems thing why bother and just go, like always just call his parents have them sit, hob nob with these people who i now am convinced just want to have fancy schmancy parties and dont give two shits about independant film. because if they did would they mind if it was one town over?
