in kneed of more knitting advice

there is yarn i want at loop the yarn shop on south street in philly, but unlike every other knitter i know i tend to get what i need run in and run out, maybe check and see what needles they carry but no browsing or planning out new projects. my yarn store trips are like maxium 10 minutes, most thta time is spent me fiddling in my bag looking for my wallet.
so what should i do?
i want some to come with me..
its a long drive for 10 mins ina yarn shop..
would it bore a boy to go with me (shawn or brother michael?)
how about the kids? ( they like yarn shops lots of novelty buttons then lunch at johnny rockets?)
i dont know what to do , i dont really have aany knitting freinds up here yet
