this has been a surreal day. this morning we heard lots of sirens but i didnt think much of it. as we turned out of our driveway to take maxwell to school, i could see black smoke billowing in the sky, and i soon was ensnarled in traffic. we could see the courthouse was on fire. it was strange, im not sure if i ever saw a building burning before. it took me close to hour to get back home, a trip that usually takes 5 minutes. we tried going out again at noon to only find more road closures. at four we were able to get back near town again, but still main street was closed. we could see firefighters still putting water on the charred structure. my sister, veronica, called me to tell me they were reporting this story all the way in boston. i googled the fire and found this link from CNN.
