c: Umm, the current definition of hipster as far as I know it right now is an emo kid

C: emo kid,so whats the defination of that?

c: Emo kid? Well, the stereotype is that you listen to emo music (Dashboard Confessional, Get Up Kids, Death Cab for Cutie, whatever), you have horrible fake dyed black hair that hangs all over your eyes,the guys wear women's jeans,umm white belts
track jackets,Goodwill shirts that were probably actually bought at Abercrombie and Fitch for like $70 or whateverbut I think emo is going out

C: ahh so to you this is a fashion thing not a lifestyle?

c: indie rock is the wave of the future all the hipster kids are getting into Modest Mouse and Mouldy Peaches now yeah I think so...

C: and so to what social group do you identify with?

c: umm,well back to the hipster thing, I think hipster can mean almost anything,I think it's someone who goes with whatever is "hip" at the moment

C: ahh are you avoiding the question ?

c: I guess I'd just say I'm a punk that still retains femininty? depsite idenitifying with a stereotypically male dominated subculutre
